December 1, 2009 Radiant Cooling Dinner Meeting & Presentation
Download the speaker's presentation here WHAT’S NEW IN RADIANT COOLING? Radiant cooling is attracting attention in warmer California and North American climates because it offers the potential to significantly reduce cooling energy consumption compared to all-air systems and reduce peak cooling loads when coupled with building thermal mass. This presentation will provide an introduction to typical radiant cooling system applications, recent research results addressing energy performance and integration with airside systems, and lessons learned from case studies.

He received an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a BS in Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College. His research interests include radiant cooling, underfloor air distribution (UFAD) and task/ambient conditioning (TAC) systems, room air distribution, thermal comfort, building energy use, ventilation and indoor air quality, laboratory and field measurement methods, and natural ventilation.
